The association between the well-being and workability among university staff during the COVID‑19 pandemic

Introduction The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on educational systems and the well-being of university staff. mental health staff can affect their ability to work. Objectives Our study aimed assess association between workability during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional among in Sfax, Tunisia. collected data September October 2021 using self-administered questionnaire including socio-professional characteristics, Work Ability Score (WAS) Arabic version Mental Health Continuum-Short form. Results sample was composed 62 respondents’ mean age 51.4±6.7 years 67.7% were female. average job tenure 17.9 ± 8 years. score WAS 7.5±1.8. scores emotional well-being, social psychological 8.5±4.2, 12.6±6.1, 19.9±7.3, respectively. Sixty-one per cent participants reported languishing moderate health, 39% % flourishing. significantly associated with (p = 0.04).
